About the Role

As Survey Party Chief at LNM1968, you'll lead field crews in establishing ground control networks, collecting topographic data, performing boundary surveys, and setting control points for aerial LiDAR projects. You'll operate GPS/GNSS equipment, total stations, and digital levels while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in modern survey equipment, and the ability to work independently in diverse field conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead field survey crews and coordinate daily operations
  • Establish and verify ground control points for aerial surveys
  • Operate GPS/GNSS, total stations, and digital levels
  • Conduct topographic surveys and boundary measurements
  • Perform quality checks on field data
  • Maintain survey equipment and ensure proper calibration
  • Prepare field notes and survey reports

Required Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Surveying or Geomatics, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in land surveying
  • Proficiency with GPS/GNSS and total station equipment
  • Strong leadership and crew management skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites

Preferred Skills

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
  • Experience with aerial survey ground control
  • Knowledge of state plane coordinate systems
  • Trimble or Leica data collector experience
