About the Role

As Human Resources Specialist at LNM1968, you'll oversee all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and contractor relations for our technical workforce. You'll manage the full talent acquisition lifecycle, coordinate with hiring managers, and ensure compliance with employment regulations and 1099 contractor requirements.

This role requires strong HR expertise, knowledge of contractor compliance, and the ability to work with a distributed technical team. You'll be instrumental in building our talent pipeline and creating a positive experience for contractors joining our geospatial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for technical positions (surveyors, hydrographers, pilots, etc.)
  • Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and coordinate hiring decisions
  • Process contractor onboarding including I-9s, W-9s, and background checks
  • Maintain HR database and contractor records in compliance with regulations
  • Coordinate benefits administration and contractor support programs
  • Handle contractor relations, performance issues, and conflict resolution
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and 1099 contractor regulations
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3+ years of HR generalist or recruiting experience
  • Knowledge of employment law and 1099 contractor compliance
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and HR software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Preferred Skills

  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP certification
  • Experience recruiting for technical or engineering positions
  • Familiarity with government contractor requirements and clearances
  • Experience managing remote/distributed workforces
  • Knowledge of surveying, geospatial, or maritime industries
